Guest Policy

Returning member? to your account.

Members are permitted and encouraged to bring qualified guests to the monthly POC events. It is our intent to carefully balance the mix of service providers and Executives as outlined below:

Service providers and salespeople are NOT permitted to the event unless they are an approved Sponsor, Endorser or member. For details on who is considered a service provider click here. The goal of the POC is to promote relationships and not to promote short term canvassing opportunities.

Qualified Guests are executives that meet the general guidelines for membership:

  • Currently or recently a CXO at a firm with $10M in revenue
  • If the Revenue is below this number, Guests can qualify based upon personal visibility in the Business community
  • A Guest can only attend once in a 12 month period
  • You must be present at the event in order to bring a guest
  • Passing resumes at an event is considered bad form

A service provider would be considered to be in one of the following industry groups:

  • Executive Recruiters
  • Law Firms
  • Accounting and consulting
  • Real Estate
  • Financial services for individuals
  • Venture Capital (with the exception of principals)
  • Other small service related firms

A primary component of the service provider definition is that the Potomac Officers Club should not exist as a base of prospective customers/clients. Essentially, there are two types of event attendees: Those who attend the events for the content and those who attend the events to solicit members. We do not consider membership for solicitors or their companies.

We recognize the need for Service Providers and want to encourage and balance their participation. These key services, and the membership, will benefit most from a balanced group. Click the following links for more information on how to be a Sponsor with the Potomac Officers Club.
