The USCG is set to receive a big boost in cybersecurity funding. The service requested $358 million for cyber in FY 2027, a potential 23 percent increase from the $292 million provided in FY 2026. As part of this increase, the USCG wants to stand up two new cyber protection teams and perform a cybersecurity plan review for maritime vessels and facilities.
It would also fund command, control, communication, computer, cyber and intelligence, or C5I, modernization activities to equip the service’s next-generation surface fleet with modern technology systems.
