Helwig is a veteran acquisition professional who helps set priorities and policies for DOD’s global transportation [air, land and sea] apparatus, as well as its supply chain movement and sustainment. Helwig’s prior command of theater sustainment and involvement in Indo-Pacific logistics focused on ensuring partner readiness and resilient supply chains.

Helwig’s operational experience includes two deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, one serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, one deployment supporting Operation Joint Guard in Bosnia and one deployment in service of Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti.
