Product Manager, Guided Precision Munitions and Mortar Systems

Brigadier General Anthony Gibbs, a native of Davisville, Missouri, was commissioned as an Infantry Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) in May 1997. His initial assignments included serving as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Battalion Adjutant for the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado. He subsequently commanded Alpha Company and Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Richardson, Alaska, which included a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in Afghanistan.

Following his company commands, BG Gibbs served as an Infantry Branch Career Manager at Army Human Resources Command in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2009, BG Gibbs transitioned into the Army Acquisition Corps. His initial acquisition assignment was as a Contingency Contracting Officer with the 632nd Contingency Contracting Team at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Following a second deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, he served as the Operations Officer for the 904th Contingency Contracting Battalion and the Mission Contracting Office at Fort Knox.

Since 2012, BG Gibbs has held numerous critical program management and executive leadership positions. His acquisition assignments include: Assistant Product Manager for Self-Propelled Howitzer Systems; Executive Officer for the Program Executive Office, Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS); Product Director for Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV); Product Manager for Guided Precision Munitions and Mortar Systems; Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems; and Project Manager for Soldier Warrior.

Furthermore, BG Gibbs has served in strategic roles at the highest levels of military leadership. He served on the Joint Staff as the Program Support Division Chief for the J-39 Deputy Director for Global Operations; as the Assistant Deputy for Acquisition and System Management under the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)); and as the Director of Integration at Army Futures Command.

BG Gibbs holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy at Fort McNair, Washington, D.C.
