Artem Sherbinin is an active duty U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at U.S. Naval Surface Forces Command. At sea, Artem has deployed several times to the Western Pacific onboard cruisers and destroyers. Ashore he has supported several Department of Defense and intelligence community technology initiatives, most notably Project Maven and the Secretary of the Navy’s Science and Technology Board, where he served as Executive Secretary for Electronic Warfare and Artificial Intelligence. Artem was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2013. He earned his officer commission and B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2018, and holds an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.
