A visionary technology leader with a focus on future network innovation, Brian Daly is renowned for shaping global industry standards in telecommunications, public safety, and cybersecurity. As Assistant Vice President for Standards & Industry Alliances at AT&T, Brian
drives the company’s strategy for advancing emerging technologies—including 5G, NextG, and mission-critical communications—across a rapidly evolving global landscape. Widely recognized for his deep expertise, industry leadership, and over 180 issued patents, Brian is a
key influencer in forging resilient networks that deliver security and value for both public sector and commercial partners.

Brian oversees AT&T’s domestic and international standards engagement, ensuring innovations in wireless, cybersecurity, emergency communications, and critical-infrastructure protection translate into industry best practices. He is active in ATIS, the National Spectrum Consortium Executive Committee, the FCC Technological Advisory Council (TAC), and CSRIC, and advises DHS, DISA, and DoD. He also serves on NPSTC and IEEE-ISTO boards. He has been instrumental in advancing open ecosystems and NextG technologies, including Wireless Emergency Alerts, C‐V2X, unmanned systems, and cybersecurity—driving both policy and implementation for FirstNet and Built with AT&T®, next-generation emergency alerting, earthquake early warning, and critical-infrastructure cybersecurity standards. His leadership roles include co-chairing the Next G Alliance Steering Group and the O-RAN Alliance Standards Development Focus Group and leading the GSMA North American Fraud Forum and Security Group.

Brian’s educational background includes both B.S.E. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, with a concentration in communication systems and advanced electromagnetic engineering. He holds an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification and actively coordinates AT&T’s involvement in the Department of Homeland Security SHARES HF Radio Program as well as serving as an Army Auxiliarist and 2nd Lt USAF Aux./Civil Air Patrol. Throughout his distinguished career, Brian has been honored with the ATIS President’s Award, the ANSI Meritorious Service Award, and the NG911 Institute Industry/Private Sector Award for his leadership in advancing emergency communications and industry standards.
