DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM)

Dr. Christina L. Sheets serves as the program manager for the DOD Healthcare Management System Modernization program management office. In this role, she provides acquisition leadership and optimization management expertise for the deployment of the Department of Defense’s electronic health record, MHS GENESIS.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
A retired Air Force Officer, Dr. Sheets most recently served as the program manager for DHMSM. She was also a practicing prosthodontist at the 11th Medical Group, Andrews Air Force Base, Md.
She was previously the baseline assistant program manager and chief dental informatics officer for the DHMSM PMO, supporting an $11 billion acquisition for 200,000 DOD medical personnel, 699 medical treatment facilities, and 9.5 million joint service beneficiaries. Dr. Sheets was previously dental laboratory flight commander, chief of prosthodontics, chief of professional services, and AEGD-1 instructor before arriving at DHMSM.

EDUCATION
Dr. Sheets graduated with a bachelor of science in biology from Old Dominion University.
She received a direct commission to the U.S. Air Force after completing her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her prosthodontic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base Texas, and received her master’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
