Christopher F. Dearie has more than 18 years of experience at U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Since March of 2024, he has served as a Deputy Executive Director of OIT’s Border Enforcement Management Directorate (BEMSD). As a DXD of BEMSD, Mr. Dearie leads two software development divisions as well as the Program Control Division (PCD) for the directorate. Within the software development divisions, he leads efforts across nearly 47 applications (and counting) utilizing numerous technology platforms and supporting stakeholders across the CBP enterprise. For PCD, he leads efforts associated with budget, human resources, contracting, and communications for the directorate. Aside from these activities, his duties are to support the BEMSD Executive Director in day-to-day activities that are required in running the directorate and acting on his behalf as needed.
Mr. Dearie has spent all of his CBP career with BEMSD, starting in 2008 where he served as a business analyst, program manager for the Firearms Armor and Credentials Tracking System (FACTS) application, team lead of the Asset Management application portfolio, Division Director of the WCR Division, and now as a Deputy Executive Director. Some of the recent notable applications he has led are the Incident Command, Coordination & Communication application (IC3), Budgeting and Employee Scheduling Application (BESA), and Policy Application Tool (PAT).
Mr. Dearie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Bonaventure University and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
