Director, Program Integration
Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM)
Ms. Cori Hughes is the Program Integration Director for the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) office as well as the Program Integration Director for the Program Executive Office, Defense Healthcare Management Systems (PEO DHMS). Ms. Hughes supports the FEHRM’s mission to implement a single, common federal electronic health record (EHR) to enhance patient care and provider effectiveness. In this role, she manages cross-cutting functions for the FEHRM including leading communications and government affairs activities; addressing risks, issues and opportunities; maintaining integrated master schedules; and optimizing performance. Related in mission, PEO DHMS aims to transform the delivery of health care and advance data sharing through a modernized EHR for Service members, Veterans and their families. Overseeing public and government affairs, Ms. Hughes manages media and public engagements as well as congressional and audit activities.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Ms. Hughes previously served as a contractor supporting senior officials inside the Department of Defense, including the Defense Health Agency, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, Acquisition and Sustainment and Personnel and Readiness. In this role, her duties included directing the development of strategic messages, communications plans and materials. She was also responsible for government affairs and auditing, ensuring consistent messaging to congressional leadership.
EDUCATION
Ms. Hughes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science in Corporate and Professional Communication from Radford University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and holds a Project Management Professional Certification.
