Heather Edwards serves as a Program Manager for FutureG within the Office of the Undersecretary of War, Research & Engineering. In this capacity, she leads a strategic portfolio of research and development projects focused on 6G and next-generation wireless technologies, directly supporting the economic, military, and security objectives of the United States and its allies.

With over 30 years of experience, Ms. Edwards has a proven track record of managing large, complex, and mission-focused telecommunications and technology programs for the Federal Government. Prior to her current role, she was the Director of Technology Program Management at Peraton, where she managed critical infrastructure programs and directed operations for the Department of Homeland Security Business Unit. Her career also includes serving as a Program Director at Amentum, where she led a portfolio of large, mission-critical programs for the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State.

Ms. Edwards is also a decorated military veteran, having served as a Signal Officer in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve. Her distinguished military service includes an assignment as a Presidential Communications Officer at the White House Communications Agency, where she was responsible for ensuring secure, vital communications for the President of the United States. Her career culminated with a strategic position at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). There, she led Continuity of Operations planning for national critical infrastructure and coordinated the restoration of secure tactical communications and spectrum assets during disasters at the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC).

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond. She lives in Fairfax, VA with her husband and teenage son.
