Mr. Jonathan Elliott serves as the Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer for Enterprise. In this role, he leads the Department of War's (DoW) adoption of Frontier AI, ensuring warfighters have access to these critical technologies through direct experimentation. His office is responsible for spearheading the Department of War's (DoW) adoption of Frontier AI, providing warfighters access to transformative technologies through rapid experimentation.  He successfully launched GenAI.mil to three million users in December 2025 and continues to deploy new models and capabilities. Additionally, his team is developing Autonomy.mil to accelerate the creation and sharing of data and models across the DoW's autonomy ecosystem.
 
With over a decade of experience in unmanned, autonomous, and AI systems, Mr. Elliott has held several key leadership positions. He was the founding Director of the AI Rapid Capabilities Cell (AIRCC), where he pioneered the DoW’s partnership with Frontier AI Labs. He also served as the Director of Assurance; Assessment (A2), leading the development of technologies to ensure AI is operationally effective and aligned with warfighter needs.
 
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Elliott was a Principal Project Lead at MITRE, where he guided efforts to develop AI Assurance methodologies and was instrumental in standing up the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), the predecessor to the CDAO. He also served as Chief Engineer for Autonomy and AI Test Technology at the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), overseeing the creation of new tools to validate AI systems and architecting the T&aE of AI Framework now implemented at the CDAO.

Mr. Elliott holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland.
