COL Alan Stephens

COL Alan Stephens most recent assignment was to the Headquarters staff of Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications – Network (PEO C3N) in preparation for serving at PM IEN. COL Stephens’ previous strategic assignment was in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) where he served as an Executive Officer to the Principal Deputy.
COL Stephens’ previous Acquisition Corps assignments include Joint Product Manager for the CBRN Reconnaissance and Platform Integration program where he led the development, integration, acquisition, fielding, and sustainment of mounted and dismounted CBRN sensors to tactical and operational users across all services; Department of the Army Systems Coordinator for Aviation Survivability Equipment; Requirements Chief for Unmanned Systems at the Maneuver Center of Excellence in Fort Benning, GA; Assistant Product Manager of Next Generation FLIR as well as the Quick Reaction Capability of Coalition-C4ISR Aerial Layer, both at the PEO for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors at Fort Belvoir, VA.
COL Stephens’ operational assignments include Assistant Operations Officer for the Army Geospatial Intelligence Battalion; Combat Advisor – 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division in Anbar Province, Iraq; as well as an Artillery Officer within 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division where he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)-1.
COL Stephens holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama, M.S. in Systems Engineering from the Naval Post graduate School, and a M.S. in National Security and Resourcing Strategy from the Eisenhower School. COL Stephens is happily married to the former April Cole of Dothan, Alabama, and the proud father of four sons – Joshua, Caleb, Daniel, and John David.
