Colonel Mark Campbell, USMC (Ret.), is a retired Marine Corps officer and national security professional with 30 years of military service spanning operational command, joint and combined operations, strategic planning, training, and wargaming. He retired from the Marine Corps in June 2025.
During his career, Mark commanded Marines at the platoon, company, and battalion levels and deployed in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. His assignments included service with I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Forces Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and the National Defense University. At USSOCOM, he helped lead certification exercises for Special Operations headquarters deploying in support of combat operations. At National Defense University’s Center for Applied Strategic Learning, he designed and facilitated strategic wargames for senior U.S. military and government leaders, international officers, and foreign delegations.
Mark currently works at Legion Intelligence, where he brings his operational and strategic experience to the application of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to defense and national security missions.
He holds a master’s degree in International Business from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.
