Michael Beckley co-founded Appian (Nasdaq: APPN) in 1999, a leader in the process automation software market.

Appian software powers digital transformation in many of the world’s largest companies as well as over 300 government agencies. As Chief Technology Officer, Mike directs Appian’s product strategy and provides industry thought leadership in the process automation and AI-powered process orchestration markets.

Mike serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for the University of Virginia’s Computer Science Department and on the Advisory Board for 1843 Capital, a technology venture firm advocating for gender equity to generate superior returns.

Before founding Appian in 1999, Mike was an early employee and Product Manager at analytics pioneer MicroStrategy (Nasdaq: MSTR).

He holds an AB in Government from Dartmouth College where he did his thesis on naval strategy in the Post-Cold War era.
