Mike McCalip serves as the Vice President for Government Programs and Strategy at Carahsoft Technology Corp, an IT solutions provider with over 4,000 employees. Mike sets strategy and growth priorities, and leads Carahsoft most complex portfolios spanning Systems Integrators, Manager Service Providers, and strategic agency partnerships focused on improving mission performance and service delivery. Mike was recognized in 2026 with a Federal 100 (Fed100) award for his exceptional impacts on public sector technology ecosystem.  
Prior to joining the private sector, Mike served in the U.S. Navy for over 31 years where he served in numerous command leadership roles.  During his military service, he deployed around the globe on nuclear-powered attack and fleet ballistic missile submarines, a guided missile destroyer and a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.  He also had the unique opportunity to serve on joint assignments, participating in and supporting operations with the United States Readiness Command, United States Special Operations Command and the United States Central Command, and the Partnership for Peace Program facilitating leadership development programs in the former Soviet Union states.  
After his retirement from the military, Mike continued to serve our nation. He was appointed by the Secretary of Defense as the senior member and deputy of the Department of Defense Nuclear Enterprise. This team examined U.S. Air Force and Navy nuclear weapons and U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Programs to ensure the safe, and reliable maintenance and operation of those systems. The Governor of Virginia also appointed mike to serve on the Virginia Military Advisory Council (VMAC), a group created to maintain a cooperative and constructive relationship between the leadership of the U.S. Armed Forces and the Commonwealth of Virginia.  
Mike has served on numerous boards both in and out of uniform. He served as Chairman of the Naval War College leadership continuum Board of Directors, Vice Chairman on the Board of Not Alone and Board Chairman for Centerstone Military Services. Today he serves on the board of the Naval Submarine League and on the USS District of Columbia commission committee (SSBN-826).
