VP Mission Engineering

Legion Intelligence

Dr. Nick Weir is the Vice President of Mission Engineering at Legion Intelligence, where he leads deployment engineering, mission delivery, and operational integration for agentic AI systems supporting U.S. defense and national security missions. His work focuses on deploying resilient AI capabilities into contested, disconnected, and classified environments, with an emphasis on edge computing, secure infrastructure, and mission-ready operational workflows.

Nick previously held roles at In-Q-Tel and Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he worked at the intersection of artificial intelligence, accelerated computing, and national security applications. He also holds a PhD from Harvard University, where his research applied computer vision techniques to biological research problems.

At Legion, Nick has led initiatives focused on operationalizing AI for warfighters, including the deployment of DDIL-ready edge AI systems that enable autonomous and semi-autonomous workflows in austere environments. His areas of focus include secure agentic architectures, AI deployment at the tactical edge, mission engineering, platform sustainment, and the intersection of AI capability with real-world operational constraints.

Nick regularly speaks on topics related to defense AI, edge deployment architectures, secure agentic systems, and the practical challenges of bringing advanced AI capabilities into operational military environments.
