Rob McGregor leads the AWS Solutions Architect team for the US Navy, Marine Corps, USCYBERCOM, and Air Force Intelligence & Information Dominance where he is responsible for overseeing a team that develops technical architectures, strategies, and solution approaches in support of DoW customers. Rob has been leading Solutions Architect teams at AWS since 2018. Prior to transitioning into his current role in February 2024, Rob led the AWS DoD 4th Estate/Joint DoD Solutions Architect team for more than 5 years, helping customers such as DISA, DLA, DARPA, and CDAO modernize and advance their missions.
Rob has been delivering enterprise, mission critical systems and services for the DoW and Intelligence Community for more than 20 years. Prior to joining AWS, Rob spent more than 14 years at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), where he served in various roles including Lead Software Engineer, System Architect, Division Chief, and Senior Technology Advisor. In those roles, he led the successful delivery of multiple mission critical data systems, architected their mission data architecture and strategy, and led the engineering of enterprise-wide capabilities such as DIA’s DevSecOps platform and Application Platform as a Service. In 2016, Rob deployed to Afghanistan for six months as DIA’s Afghanistan J6 Officer-in-Charge/IT Systems Chief for Afghanistan and Qatar, where he led the delivery, operations, and optimization of classified network services to customers throughout Afghanistan and Southwest Asia.
Rob is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, where he earned a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science. He also has a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering.
