Robert Yon is a vice president in LMI’s defense market focused on delivery and growth of the Naval Autonomous Data Collection System (NADACS) suite of capabilities. He joined LMI in 2016 as a graduate intern after serving as a communications officer in the Marines. Robert has served as a graduate intern, graduate fellow, senior analyst, project manager, program manager, and business development principal. Throughout his tenure with LMI, Robert has supported several clients, including OSD, DLA, USMC, the Air Force, the Army, and USTRANSCOM.
In his current role, Robert is focused on developing, testing, validating, and deploying enterprise-scale sensor technology-enabled solutions to solve common logistics problems such as asset visibility, in-transit visibility, and yard management. Robert has a strong background in the analysis and improvement of logistics systems, particularly in the areas of transportation and distribution. He also has experience leading the development of white papers, business case analyses, and interactive market models to support government policy reforms, particularly in areas affected by emerging technologies. He specializes in connecting the needs of government leaders to commercial best practices and technologies. Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science with
Certificates in German language and European Union studies from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy.
