Army’s Top Network Leader to Discuss Data-Driven Warfare at 2026 Army Summit
Lt. Gen. Jeth Rey, deputy chief of staff, G-6 for the U.S. Army, will deliver a keynote address at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Army Summit on June 18, where government and industry leaders will examine the technologies, strategies and partnerships shaping the future force.
As the Army’s senior military advisor for network architecture, communications, cyber operations and information technology strategy, Rey oversees efforts that are increasingly central to military modernization, including data management, artificial intelligence enablement, next-generation command and control, zero trust implementation and battlefield connectivity.
His keynote comes as Army leaders continue advancing initiatives designed to improve how data moves across the force, strengthen cyber resilience and accelerate decision-making in contested environments. Don’t miss this premier GovCon networking event—limited tickets remain.
Who Is Jeth Rey?
Since Jan. 2025, Rey has served as deputy chief of staff, G-6, for the Army. In that role, he serves as the principal military advisor to the chief of staff of the Army and the Army chief information officer on planning, strategy, network architecture and the implementation of command, control, communications, computers and cyber capabilities across worldwide Army operations.
A native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Rey has served as an enlisted soldier, warrant officer and commissioned officer during a military career spanning more than four decades. His previous leadership assignments include director of the Network Cross-Functional Team at Army Futures Command, director of C4 Systems for U.S. Central Command, Army Cyber Command G-3 and commander of the 516th Signal Brigade.
Throughout his career, Rey has helped shape the Army’s approach to network modernization, cyber operations and operational communications. His experience also includes assignments with U.S. Army Special Operations Command, the 75th Ranger Regiment and the White House Communications Agency.
What Will Jeth Rey Discuss at the 2026 Army Summit?
Rey’s 2026 Army Summit keynote comes as the Army continues advancing major initiatives focused on data management, network modernization and Next-Generation Command and Control, dubbed NGC2.
Earlier this year, he highlighted plans for the Army Data Operation Center, a new organization designed to improve how information moves across Army networks and operational environments. Rey described the center as a hub that will help connect data flows across partners, joint forces and combatant commands while addressing longstanding challenges created by siloed systems, according to DefenseScoop.
He has also emphasized the importance of data security, identity credential and access management, attribute-based access control and artificial intelligence as foundational elements of the Army’s NGC2 strategy, GovCIO reports.
Based on his leadership portfolio and recent public comments, attendees can expect discussion around:
- Treating data as “the new ammunition” in future military operations
- Standing up the Army Data Operation Center to improve enterprise-wide data management
- Enabling NGC2 through secure, accessible data
- Applying AI and machine learning to accelerate decision-making
- Advancing zero trust, ICAM and attribute-based access control initiatives
- Modernizing Army networks for a hyperconnected battlefield
- Preparing the force for future cyber and information warfare challenges
What’s on the Agenda at the 2026 Army Summit?
The 2026 Army Summit will bring together senior government and industry leaders to discuss modernization priorities across the service.
Keynote speakers include:
- Hon. Marc Andersen, assistant secretary of the Army for financial management and comptroller
- Maj. Gen. David Hall, deputy commanding general, Army National Guard, U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command
- Katie Thompson, deputy executive director, Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground
- Dr. Jeff Waksman, principal deputy assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment
The agenda will also feature discussions on scaling commercial technology adoption, enabling a hyperconnected battlefield, reconfigurable air defense, tactical edge modernization, artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, cybersecurity, wireless spectrum management and open technology ecosystems.
Sessions such as From Data to Decision: How AI Is Transforming the Army Today and Tech Stack After Next: What’s Still Needed to Enable a Hyperconnected Battlefield align closely with many of the challenges and opportunities Rey has highlighted in recent public appearances.
Continuing the Conversation on Army Transformation
At the Potomac Officers Club’s 2025 Army Summit last year, Rey outlined a vision for a force that is increasingly data-centric, cyber-capable and combat-ready, emphasizing both technological innovation and workforce development.
His upcoming keynote will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear directly from one of the Army’s leading technology officials about how the service is evolving its networks, data architecture and cyber capabilities to support future operations.
